Last updated: August 2026

This policy explains how Robinson Roofers, trading as Robinson Roofing and Maintenance (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects and uses your personal information when you use this website or contact us, and it explains your rights. We are the data controller responsible for your information.

The information we collect

When you fill in an enquiry form on this website we collect the details you choose to give us. That is your name and phone number, which are required in order to send the form, and your email address, postcode, the service you selected and the message you write, which are optional on the quote form. On the contact form a message is also required.

The website also records the page the enquiry was sent from, the web address of that page, the date and time it was submitted, whether you ticked the consent box, and the IP address of the device that sent it. The IP address and a short record of your browser are kept only to identify and prevent automated spam submissions.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to respond to your enquiry and provide a quote, to arrange and carry out any work you ask us to do, to keep a record of enquiries so we can follow them up and manage our business, and to protect the website from spam and misuse.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, running our business and keeping the website secure, and, where you are asking us to quote or to carry out work, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where we rely on consent, for example for non essential cookies, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for anyone else to market to you. To run the website and follow up enquiries we use a small number of trusted providers who process information on our behalf: our website host, which stores the enquiry record; our email provider, so the enquiry reaches us; and, where we use one, our customer management system, so we can manage your enquiry and contact you about it. These providers only process your information in order to provide their service to us and are required to keep it secure. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, unless we have carried out work for you, in which case we keep the job record for 6 years to meet our tax and insurance obligations.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete, to ask us to delete your information, to ask us to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask us to transfer your information where that right applies, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights please contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.
