Flat roofs have a poor reputation, almost always because of old felt systems laid without enough fall. Modern flat roofing is a different proposition, and a well detailed flat roof on the right materials will outlast the extension it sits on.

Falls are set so water actually runs to the outlet, upstands and edge details are formed rather than improvised, and the covering is taken into the guttering correctly.
